About Me...
SiWei Liang is an animator, filmmaker and illustrator form Beijing, China. She is currently based in London finishing her master degree of Character Animation at Central Saint Martins.
SiWei has developed her interest on drawing since she was little. In 2017, she enters the University of Nottingham, Ningbo China to study Media and Communications. During her university period, she finds her interest on film and has been doing film channels with her friends at the university television station. At the third year of her undergraduate, she feels no longer satisfied with analysing and writing film comments and determines to create her own films. Thus, she applies to and enters the Character Animation master degree in Central Saint Martins and starts her specialised journey in animation making.
Her works draw nourishment from theoretical studies of philosophy, sociology and ancient mythology. Due to her consistent passion about films, you can also see the influence of film languages and cinematic compositions in her works. Another remarkable theme of her creations are Rock and Roll and experimental music which have been well combined with her animation works. While specialising on animation, she is also doing film production design and working on independent illustrations, she is always seeking for collaboration opportunities on music and animation, film and animation.
